The Girlfriend Club goes to the Bodhi Tree Cafe 1 May 2010

We are off to the Bodhi Tree Cafe for our next Girlfriend Club event.  We had such a great time there for our last event…lots of lovely new faces to enjoy.

For this Girlfriend Club event I’d like to encourage you to invite some of your family along.  You may have a sister-in-law, a mother, an aunt or the like who would benefit from the opportunity to form some positive connections.

The benefits of attending the Girlfriend Club are:

  • Growing your friendship with myself and the leadership team so we can support you better
  • Getting to service your girlfriend relationships (or relationships with the women in your life)
  • Meeting new women who may be influential in your future
  • Enjoying the ambience of a great cafe and very healthy food

If you’d like to know more about the event, please feel free to call me on 08 9375 2007 or 0404 732 578.  It’s also a great opportunity to have a chat with our Membership Coordinator, Jennifer Crossland, who can help you to make positive connections.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next event or at our Choices Workshop in June.
Hayley

Welcome to New Members

After a fabulous morning with the girls at the Bodhi Tree, I’d like to make a special welcome to all the new members of Women Can International Inc and to introduce those that I have got to know a little better today.  The others, I promise, I will get to and make sure you get to know them too.

Jo McNeilly, Corporate Trainer extradorindaire and Artist.  Jo is currently doing a lot of country work, helping teams to develop and enjoys painting on the side.

Sonya D’Adamo, a Beautician and Make Up Artist who is working closely with Chantal Vanderhaeghen.

Lee Cassidy, Marriage Celebrant and Separation Counsellor.  Lee works in the legal field and runs a club called FFF, which stands for Fun, Friendship and Fitness.  Lots of fun opportunities coming our way via Lee.

Linda Wilson, Women’s Health Doctor now practising in Nedlands, Midland and Mt Lawley.  Lovely Linda is a strong advocate for Women’s health and embraces natural health medicine.

Tanya Regan, Writer and Life Transformation Facilitator, with interest in disseminating Louise Hay’s work and leading meditation weekends.

Jayne Barnett, Clothing Designer and Remodeller, focused on helping women to revamp and organise their wardrobes.

Chantal Vanderhaeghen, Franc Essentials owner, helping people to improve and nurture their skin via her range of natural skin care products.

Heidi Corneillson, Completely Human, who tells me she’s a life coach on steroids.  Heidi helps people with their physical, emotional and spiritual health.

Other new members who weren’t at today’s gathering are:

Jane Ormsby

Priscilla Mills

Kate Hutton

A huge welcome to all you lovely ladies.  So looking forward to enjoying your company at our next event!

Calendar a new addition to our site

We are now using Google Calendar to schedule our events. Please check out our calendar of events located under the Programs tab.

We will be updating the calendar regularly and adding other people’s events, as our vision is to build bridges in our communities and we believe this includes supporting others in their events. If you are a part of a club or group or you are organising a social event and would like us to promote it, please complete our Contact Us form and include the details of your event name, date, location, any costs associated and a brief description and we’ll add it to our calendar.

Our Newsletter

We are reviewing how we manage our newsletter and have opted to only use Feedburner as our main method of communicating with our members.  To this end, we have subscribed all our emailing list to Feedburner.  What this means is that you will now receive bulletins in your email when new information is posted on our website.  If you receive an email asking you to confirm, please click the link.

The benefits for you are that you will:

  • always receive the latest and most accurate information about what is happening at Women Can International Inc
  • be more connected and aware of how to benefit from the Association

The benefits for Women Can International Inc are:

  • We will be able to cut down on duplication of efforts – we often send out our email bulletin with the same or similar information to that which is being posted on the site.
  • We will not have to pay for an email list system when we can easily manage it another way.

This now means that Hayley Solich will be posting a once-a-month update post on the site which will include information about:

  • The next Girlfriend Club event.
  • Membership news.
  • Special offers.
  • Other interesting events that are coming up.

We value the feedback of our members.  If you can see why we should review this decision, please contact us and let us know why.

Stay connected…good things are coming!

Can’t make our Petticoats & Pearls event, but would like to attend virtually?

We are very excited to announce that we have the opportunity to include our international, interstate, state and local women who are unable to come to the event via a live video broadcast and interactive SKYPE experience, in our Princesses in Petticoats & Pearls event.

With live video streaming hosting all sown up, we have just a few technical items to sort out before we can definitely include this in our program.

In the meantime, we are asking all our international, interstate, state and local women who know they can’t get to the event but would be excited to have the opportunity of participating virtually, to pop me us email and let us know they want in for this fabulous event.

What would you be required to do on the day?

1. Dress up in your tiaras, petticoats and/or pearls outfit

2. Join our SKYPE conference call or chat space

3. Post pictures or a video log of your outfit on our ning.com site (www.womencaninternational.ning.com)

4. Enjoy all the fun of the day.

We have adventure documentary film maker, Geoff Quinsee from End2End Adventures, on hand with a live video feed, capturing our fabulous speakers, roaming the venue, visiting business/community booths, interviewing women, and ready to do your bidding.  You can let us know what you’d like to see and what questions you’d like Geoff to ask our ladies; you can connect with some of the local girls who are going to take turns in being in the chat room and enjoy all the frolicking and fun of the day.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, there will be a minimal cover charge ($10 per person), with part proceeds going to our charity cause for the day.  You can even bid in our charity auction where we already have some fabulous items up for auction.

So register your interest now, by emailing us and give us a clear indication of whether or not to proceed with the technical planning.

Expressions of interest close 15 February 2010.

Annual General Meeting

Please accept this post as notice of the Annual General Meeting, as per our constitution rules, for Women Can International Inc to be held on 6 February 2010 at 12:30pm at The Boatshed, South Perth, following the Girlfriend Club Morning Tea.

All current members are invited to renew their membership via the website process – see the post, Sign Up Now.

It is vital that renewal is made prior to the meeting, as without your membership expression of interest form completed, you will be unable to vote at the meeting as per our constitution rules which states that only members may vote.

All standing members are invited to submit their nominations for the positions of Secretary, Vice Chairperson and Treasurer.  All nominations must be seconded by a committee member, so please get your nominations in and plead your case with a committee member prior to the meeting if you are keen to serve on the committee.

All positions on the committee, except for the Chairperson’s position, as per the constitution rules will be vacated and up for nomination.  Current position holders may nominate themselves for their current positions if they so desire or other members can nominate them.

Current position holders are:

June Kelly (Vice Chairperson)

Jennifer Crosslands (Secretary)

Carol Sutton (Treasurer)

Janine Felt (Committee Member)

Azra De Passey (Committee Member)

I would like to take this moment to personally thank every member for their support of this association and in particular, all those members that have consistently attended our events.  Your continued support is valued greatly.

I would also like to especially thank the women that have served on the committee.  I feel very privileged to have you in my life.

Jennifer, your creativity and depth of thinking in coming up with our program and value proposition has positioned us with strength for 2010.  Thank you so much.

June, your ongoing enthusiasm and steadfast commitment has galvanised me in my resolve to ensure this club continues to grow and benefit women worldwide.  Thank you for your passion, dedication and ongoing commitment.

To the other committee members, past and present, thank you so much for being willing to serve, for opening your hearts to allow us in and giving your time and efforts.  You are all busy women and I appreciate what you have given very much.  You will all have a special place in my heart forever.

So looking forward to a fabulous, powerful and amazing year.
