MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TURNING HER CAN’TS INTO CANS
On 22 March 2017 Women Can International Inc are hosting the “She Turns Her Can’ts Into Cans” Women’s Forum at The Rise, Maylands, in partnership with Bendigo Bank and The Creaticians.
A free event for women of all ages and cultures, there will be the opportunity for women to connect, chat, enjoy some wine and cheese, contribute to small group discussions and be in the draw for the lucky door prizes.
Women Can International Inc’s motto is I CAN… influencing others, being connected, choosing your attitude and nurturing yourself and others. The organisation is relaunching with a very positive vision for the future and they are asking women to come and be connected.
“They say it takes a village to raise a child. I believe we need an intergenerational commitment and approach from women to strengthen our feminine community by meeting the human needs for belonging, contribution, love and connection,” says Chairperson and Founder, Ms Solich.
“We are providing a bridge between those with experience and those desiring it, those with knowledge and those who need it.”
“Everyone can help someone else, we are all either a step ahead or behind of the next person. So it is not too hard to put your hand out and help the next person along in their journey.”
With three teenage daughters, Ms Solich is now reaping the benefits of founding the Association back in 2007.
“Through Women Can, my daughters have been surrounded by strong and positive women for the past decade. I am now seeing that influence in their ability to use their voice to ask for what they need and to advocate, especially in my youngest.”
“At just 16, she is already passionately speaking out about issues that concern her and desiring to advocate on a State level. We need this process of modeling feminine strength to our girls. They need to know they don’t have to burn their bras and beat up their men to achieve equality. We are equal. But we are also different. We have amazing strengths that we can harness without having to displace men. We can bring influence through feminine wisdom by creating a nurturing community building framework that shares wisdom without unhealthy competition.”
Women Can invites women of all ages and cultures to join in the conversation and to make suggestions of practical ways we can strengthen our feminine community.
Ms Solich will be sharing her own powerful and inspirational story of triumph over adversity and how she has turned her can’ts into cans many times in her own life. A regular International Women’s Day event speaker, Ms Solich was a full-time professional performing artist before raising her four children and is now the CEO of Perth-based communications company, The Creaticians.
