The 100 women: 100 facets of wisdom project helps women in Western Australia connect and form partnerships to enhance cultural identity.
The project aims to instill a sense of purpose and hope for the future; encourage sharing of stories and personal wisdom, and achieve a brighter future for generations to come, through placing emphasis on:
- family: creating records of knowledge, family trees and lifestyles through writing books, keeping written and photo journals, recording recipes and how-to guides, scrapbooking and teaching children to value the world in which they live
- community: supporting community development projects that have a positive impact on the future of communities
- career: seeking opportunities in career pathways that are aligned with the concept of cultural identity
- creativity: being creative and innovative, looking for solutions to problems and combining strengths.
The project is an initiative of Hayley Solich who has a lived experience of suicide, domestic violence, grief, financial hardship, homelessness, miscarriage and postnatal depression.
If you are a community group or individual who would like to start a project or have Hayley Solich come and speak to your group to inspire them to value their personal wisdom, please email Hayley.
Hayley’s goal is to officially launch this project on International Women’s Day in 2018 and she is looking for organisations willing to partner with her for this event.
